In order to make the Courtyard of Honor become a reality, a non-profit board registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a 501c-3 entity has been created. The Board currently consists of nine members representing Hershey's two major veterans' organizations (American Legion Post 386 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3502), alumni of the Hershey and Milton Hershey High Schools, and former classmates of Hershey's 9/11 casualty, United Airline 175 copilot, Michael R. Horrocks. The Board meets quarterly to develop a concept design for the Courtyard and to coordinate various fundraising activities.
